Arroyo Seco Golf Course

Arroyo Seco is a 3 par golf course located in Pasadena California. Prices for this golf course are less then $20 for 18, regardless of the day of the week you play. You can book a tee time, but hey this is a 3 par course, so why bother. They offer a driving range, a miniature golf course for kids, a full bar including food and yes ofcourse 18 holes of fun.

The fairways are moist, even during the droughts that Los Angeles faces regularly. This makes for faster rolls, but not a whole lot of bounce with your golf balls. Trees hang over each side of the narrow fairways, which offer a bit of challenge for these straight shots from the tee box to the greens. The greens are well manicured and are very fast. they are uneven so make sure you take the extra time in reading the green, or you will be in trouble.

This golf course does offer 18 holes as marked by yellow and red flags. However the front and back nine hols are almost exactly the same. The only advice that I can give you when playing this course is to make sure when you tee off you hit straight. Otherwise the trees will bring your balls straight down, sometimes feet from where you tee'd off. Also, make sure your putts are smooth and not to stiff. The greens are moist and fast. Overall this is a great course to play to play when you are short on time. I recommend you bring all of your irons down to 6. The longest hole is about 168 yards, with the average hole being about 115 yards.

Verdugo Hills Golf Course - What do I expect?

Verdugo Hills Golf Course is a 3 par course. The holes are short but challenging. The longest distance hole is at 150 yards. That being said, the holes are up and downhill so do not think you will get through these holes easily. Irons are all you need, but you do need a good selection of irons. I include hole by hole details here on my web site page. (Click Here to View) Verdugo Hills Golf Course.

This 3par course features a club house, bar, driving range and 18 holes. While not the most upscale golf course, you will find yourself challenged. So no need to get a big head, it will be deflated. The staff is nice and the beers for the most part are cold. Best part is you pay at most $15 for 18 holes and $9 for a bucket of balls.

If need be you can rent clubs, but you can also get clubs refurbished or repaired here too. Overall this is a great course to learn on or improve your overall iron playing game. For more details on what this course has to offer, (Click Here) for the Page I have dedicated to this course in my web site, which is all about Verdugo Hills Golf Course.

August Golfing Blog Post

A new month and a new strategy on what I blog on when it comes to golf. July was my first month of blogging about golf and I tended to talk a lot about me and my experiences on the golf courses I played. Begining this month, I am going to change... I am going to play as many golf courses as I can, beyond just Verdugo Hills Golf Course, my close to home convenient course. I will post specifics about each course I play. The hope and intent is that this information will be helpful to you, a fellow golfer, who is playing each course I post about for the first time. I would also like soome interaction. Meaning, if you have comments about a particular post, then post them. This is welcomed and needed by all golfers who view this blog.

I may throwin a personal touch, here and ther, about a course. Which I expect will be the same for those who also post comments. But... for the most part. Let's keep this blog specific to golf courses in Los Angeles, and provide information that all of us, amatuer or pro golfers, can use when playing the different golf courses available to us in Los Angeles.
